An Elastrator tool suitable for calves, sheep and goats, these particular type of bander are increasingly being used successfully by Alpaca breeders to attend to their animal castration needs.

The application of the ring is quick and efficient, by expanding the ring with this applicator and placing over the scrotum above the testicles, cutting off the blood supply. The scrotum will wither and fall off in a matter of a few weeks in this bloodless procedure.

The special latex rings opens twice the size of normal marking rings, with the unique square edge profile of the rings being designed so they will not slip off applicator. If use with an Alpaca is intended, and as this species have a non pendulous scrotum, extra care must be taken to ensure that both testicles have been captured under the ring.

There is a 12 Month warranty on the bander tool and we have chosen to stock the slightly more expensive model with the stronger metal arms. The applicator is made of stainless steel, however, a silicon spray or lubricant should be used on arms to allow the tool to open/close freely over time and all conditions.

A tetanus toxoid (5-in-1) injection should be administered or have recently been administered to your animal(s).
